Overview
We use passwords almost everywhere: for e-mail accounts, ftp accounts, documents etc.
It is not recommended to use simple passwords like dog name or other easy to guess
passwords. We must use long and complicated passwords if we want to protect our sensitive
data. And also passwords need to be changed from time to time. So how we could remember so
many passwords and account details? Using a tool like this module from Xidie, we will use
a single password that will secure information about all other accounts. By using Xidie
password keeper, all accounts information from e-mail, Internet, Ftp accounts and also all
passwords used to secure documents will be stored in a single place in a very secure way.
And with only one password you could access all other passwords and accounts information.
Password Keeper is a module that you can use to have your passwords handy and secure. It
uses very secure encryption using AES encryption algorithm.

Ho its work
Users When you first time start Xidie password keeper, you must create a new user
profile by selecting Add new user. We could create how many users profile we want (for
example we could store all internet accounts into a user account, e-mail account into
another user accounts etc.). To create an account we must simply select a name for that
account and to enter/select a password. This password could be typed or could be random
generated. If you type the password yourself you must retype the password. To generate a
random password you could change the password length and you could choose between
characters used to generate the password (all characters, numeric, uppercase and lowercase
characters and base 64 characters). Passwords could be saved as a key disk (on removable
disk like floppy or secure disks). Read more on "Encrypt decrypt" section of
help or bellow on "More about passwords" section. If you previous create a user
profile select Load user passwords and use same password used when you create the account.
To delete current user profile select Delete current user. Remember that if you delete an
account you will lose all the information from that user profile (passwords, accounts
documents etc.). To change password for a user select Change user password.
Password manager After you load a user all accounts stored for that profile are
displayed in a table. To view all details about an account, select record then press
"Edit current record button". To delete a record first select it then press
"Delete record". To add a new record press "Add new record button" To
search for a record enter the text to search then press "Find record" button.
Edit record and add new record will open a new form with 6 fields that could be edited
/filled. When you create a new record at least two fields must be completed (Document full
path and password) the other four fields (user name, document type, short description and
comments) are optionally. After you add or edit a record press Save and exit button. If
you don't want to save the record simply press Exit button. Also in this form you have
navigation options (previous, next, first and last record buttons), open document option
and Get in clipboard option (will put in clipboard information from selected record).

More about passwords
First at all, a password must be not easy to guess. So it is not recommended to use a
simple password like pet name, birthday date, numeric passwords and other. A good password
must not include only dictionary words (in any language) because such password could be
easy attacked using brute force attack (dictionary attack). The password must be long
enough: Xidie have a lower limit fixed at 8 characters and an upper limit at 32 characters
between you could choose. You may not use all 32, but if you want top quality at least you
have the chance. The security of a password increases with password length. Change the
password often if it protects sensitive data! After all this rules, you still have to be
able to remember the password. This is where Xidie password keeper helps you. Bad
passwords examples: "15326813", "algorithm", "director" etc.
Good passwords examples: "My*12House!@", "hy&*jlk 9003(+-",
"#Xidie# no.1 Security" Rules: Do not use common words, such as the name of your
cat, husband, wife, daughter, telephone number, the numbers of your birthday or year, not
even in reversed order. You can be sure these passwords will be tried out first. If you
don't want to use passwords with extra characters like "&%$*" then use
passwords at least 12 letters long. Use random password generator and save password on a
removable like floppy, SD cards etc. Use numbers or binary values. Do not forget your
password! Use key disks, if you cannot remember passwords but keep the key disk in a
secure place (don't forget it on your desk eventually near computer). There are no
possibilities to restore files encrypted with Xidie with an unknown password. If the
password or the key disk is lost or damaged respectively, you will never be able to
decrypt your files. The program does not store the keys, neither in an encrypted file nor
anywhere else. The password is even deleted in memory after its usage.
